sources

transparency about where our data comes from is a core part of how we built [hired]. this page lists every source we use, how we use it, and what we explicitly don't.

01

job listings

we ingest job postings from a varied set of ats platforms via their official, publicly-documented apis. each ats provider operates these endpoints specifically to allow third-party syndication of their customers' job feeds — no scraping, no terms-of-service violations. our source list evolves as ats vendors launch new public apis; the current set covers the major swiss-relevant ats platforms.

the data we ingest per job: title, employer, location, description, employment type, posting date, application url, and where the employer chose to disclose it, salary. we do not extract or store recruiter or hiring-manager personal data from these feeds.

02

salary estimates

when an employer doesn't disclose salary in a posting, we provide an estimated range based on official swiss labor statistics:

source: bundesamt für statistik (bfs)
        schweizerische lohnstrukturerhebung 2024
        https://www.bfs.admin.ch/bfs/de/home/statistiken/arbeit-erwerb/loehne-erwerbseinkommen-arbeitskosten/lohnstruktur.html
license: open government data

we map each job to a (noga industry × isco occupation × grossregion) combination and look up the p25, median, and p75 monthly gross figures from the bfs dataset. annualised by ×13 (swiss convention). displayed as "estimated: chf x – y · bfs lse 2024" alongside the listing.

bfs medians are aggregate population statistics. top employers in tech, pharma, and finance often pay above bfs p75. treat the estimate as a reference, not a quote. for a more individualized estimate, see the bfs salarium calculator at salarium.bfs.admin.ch.

03

cv parsing

when you upload a cv, the text content is processed by gpt-5-mini via microsoft azure openai service. the model runs inside our own azure tenant in switzerland north. your data does not leave this region, is not used to train any model, and is not shared with openai or any third party. azure abuse-monitoring is disabled for our deployment.

we extract: skills, job titles, languages, years of experience, education level, and location preferences. the original pdf and extracted fields are stored on our servers in switzerland.

04

what we do not use

for the record, the following sources are not part of our pipeline, and never will be without explicit user-facing disclosure here:
  • linkedin — their terms prohibit aggregation, and we agree with them
  • indeed, glassdoor, ziprecruiter — proprietary aggregators, not source-of-truth
  • jobs.ch, jobup.ch, jobscout24.ch, topjobs.ch, alpha.ch, jobwinner.ch (the jobcloud network) — commercial swiss aggregators with their own data licenses
  • xing — proprietary, not licensed for our use
  • scraped career-site html — we use only documented apis, not html scraping
